ABOUT ME

VFX Compositor

I am a digital compositor with 18 years experience in film and television effects work.

Based in Sydney the past 7 years (working for Method Studios and Fin Design+FX), I started my career working for NZ and Canadian companies both locally and remotely.

 I have broken my time in Australia up with doing 4 films at Weta back in NZ, as well as doing  'Ash vs Evil Dead' remotely (production took place in NZ but as I know the producers well, and they wanted me on board, I led the postviz and also did final shots remotely from Sydney).

Starting out as a generalist television comper on low budget kids shows, I have always liked a variety of work, ...from the frantic creative craziness of working with editors and directors on TV postviz (Spartacus and Ash vs Evil Dead, ...both of which I also got to do finals), to working on genre feature films I'm a fan of (Fury Road, Deadpool, John Wick2, Black Widow), to working on kids films that my daughter loves (the BFG and Alvin and the Chipmunks The Road Chip).

My first career in the industry was actually as an editor (long form documentaries were my speciality). In 2002, after 10 years cutting (where I did special effects and vfx on my own side projects with friends), I switched professions (my hobby becoming my day job) and have been a digital compositor ever since.
